- Der Untergang (Downfall) (2004) Nominated for Oscar, from director Oliver Hirschbiegel, featuring an all-star cast including Bruno Ganz as Hitler and Alexandra Maria Lara.
- The Edukators (2004) One of the best films from Austrian filmmaker Hans Weingartner.
- Sommersturm (2004) From Marco Kreuzpaintner, featuring Kostja Ullmann and Robert Stadlober, two of Germany’s finest young actors.
- NaPolA (2004) Featuring Tom Schilling and Max Riemelt in career-defining performances, from filmmaker Denis Gansel.
So I’m going to hazard a guess that at least half of the people on my Tumblr flist have seen all of these films, hahahaha (IF NOT, FOR SHAME). Very pleasing to see NaPolA on here (it reminded me to order the DVD, whoops) but this list is quite obviously missing The Lives of Others.
